Mickey’s Service Station Production Drawing

 

H!!!!!! Friends , After few months going to post some vintage mickey mouse production drawing . Preliminary pencil art for cartoon released March 16, 1935 directed by Ben Sharpsteen. Pair of 9.5x12" animation sheets comprise two scenes of Mickey trying to fix a flat tire. First sheet has 3.5x3.75" image area with Mickey struggling with tire iron trying to get tire off wheel and second sheet has 3.75x5.25" image area with dazed Mickey with tire around his neck and stars in air. Lt. margin aging but image area on both is Exc. In the finished cartoon Mickey wore a service station attendant’s uniform. Wonderful action studies, great to frame together.

Mickey’s Sea Monster Production Drawing by Horvath (1935)

 

MICKEY’S SEA MONSTER PRODUCTION DRAWING BY HORVATH FOR 1935 CARTOON WHICH WAS NEVER PRODUCED :

 

9.5x11 7/8" animation sheet has 4x9.5" image area in lead and colored pencil with delightful scene of Mickey wearing a cap standing on a barrel thinking about "$1000" as he holds rope tied around one head of a three headed serpent. Sheet has tiny lead pencil #91 at upper right corner along with very lt. initials in pencil which appear to be “FH”. Lt. margin aging otherwise drawing is Exc. The cartoon would have pitted Mickey, Donald and Goofy against a comic sea monster. Ferdinand Horvath was a story sketch artist at Disney from 1934 to 1937 who brought a European style to the Disney cartoons. He worked on many of the Disney shorts and did preliminary work on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Mickey Mouse : Vintage Art

 

MICKEY MOUSE PRODUCTION ART FOR MICKEY’S GALA PREMIERE :

 

Art is for cartoon directed by Bert Gillett released July 1, 1933. 9.5x12" animation sheet has 4.25x8" lead pencil image area with wonderful art of Mickey riding on back of galloping tortoise firing a pistol. Lt. margin aging, blank bottom margin edge has two small thumbtack holes and upper left blank corner tip has pair of staple holes but image area will mat and frame to Mint. appearance.

SHANGHAIED PENCIL PRODUCTION ART WITH PEG-LEG PETE CLUTCHING MINNIE. :

 

Lead and color pencil art done for cartoon directed by Bert Gillett released January 13, 1934. 9.5x12" sheet has 5 5/8x7" image area with wonderful clean and tight drawing with villain Peg-Leg Pete holding Minnie who has rope wrapped around her and is screaming for help. Bottom of sheet has lead pencil text “Scene 8B MM21 1st Cel 30". Lt. margin aging, left side of center has 3/8" lt. tan mark but image area remains clean and Exc. Cartoon storyline has Mickey saving Minnie from Peg-Leg Pete and his band of cutthroats.

MICKEY’S STEAM-ROLLER FINISHED PRELIMINARY ART FOR MOVIE STILL :

 

Lead pencil art is attributed to Tom Wood for promotion of cartoon released on June 16,1934 which was directed by Dave Hand. 9.5x12" sheet of animation paper has image filling almost entire sheet. Clean and tight drawing has Mickey in cab of steamroller which has gone out of control with nephews Morty and Ferdy seated on top of two clouds. Lower right corner has Minnie watching the action. Lt. margin aging, but most of image area has Exc. appearance. Nephew Ferdy first appeared in the Mickey Mouse comic strip on September 18, 1932 and this is his only cartoon appearance.

Plane Crazy Production Drawing

 

RECENTLY I POSTED SOME VINTAGE MODEL SHEETS ,PRODUCTION DRAWING,STORYBOARD ART ,CONCEPT STORYBOARD BECAUSE YOU PEOPLE CAN GET INSPIRATION FROM OLD LEGEND ANIMATORS ARTWORK.

Today I’m going to share crazy mickey  Open-mouthed smile I mean PLANE CRAZY PRODUCTION DRAWING .

Here is Two sheets, Dimension of each is 9.5x12" c.1928 go together to form combined lead pencil image of Mickey and Minnie in cockpit of runaway plane with her tugging at his shorts. First sheet with Mickey and Minnie has 4" wide image area, second sheet with image of out-of-control plane has 4.25x9.5" lead image area. First sheet has #304 and #368 at lower right corner and second sheet has #304 at lower right corner. First sheet has ink stamp number at upper right corner 209. Both sheets have lt. margin edge aging, second sheet has very faint 1" crease at lower right but image areas on both will mat and frame to Near Exc.appearance.Truly historic original art for the very first Mickey Mouse cartoon ever made. Cartoon was produced in 1928 and released on March 17, 1929 making it the third Mickey Mouse cartoon ever shown in theaters. The storyline was inspired by Lindbergh’s solo plane flight from New York to Paris in 1927.

Mickey Mouse

 

Today I’m going to share some collectibles of Disney Mickey mouse .

MICKEY MOUSE & THREE LITTLE PIGS BW VARIETY 1933 FAN CARD

Dimension : 7x9 1/8" with wonderful image on front of Mickey using wood stick baton to conduct band which includes Practical Pig singing, Fifer Pig using flute and Fiddler Pig fiddling, and Pluto sitting next to Mickey singing.

MICKEY MOUSE AND THREE LITTLE PIGS HAND COLORED VARIETY 1933 FAN CARD.

Dimension : 7x9 1/8" has wonderful scene with Mickey using wood stick as baton conducting group which includes Practical Pig singing, Fifer Pig playing flute, Fiddler Pig fiddling, and Pluto next to Mickey singing. Card has been nicely hand watercolored  at the time by studio artist. Top margin edge has barely noticeable tiny tack hole, trace of lt. dust soil. Bright and VF. Superb design delicately water-colored.

Mickey Mouse Model Sheet Concept Art Attributed To Fred Moore


H!!!!!!! Friends today I’m going to share some mickey mouse model sheet concept art of Fred Moore , it’s a 1930s . 10x12" sheet of animation paper has 9x11" image area in lead and red pencil with five wonderful expressive images of Mickey. Includes him closing door, looking stunned, angrily throwing something, looking up smiling, and in friendly pose gesturing with left hand. Lower right corner has additional loose lead pencil sketch of his hand. Sheet has lt. margin aging but most of image area is Exc. Fred Moore joined Disney in 1930 and worked on the pigs in the Three Little Pigs. He served as an animator or directing animator for most of the animated features from Snow White to Peter Pan. He was responsible for updating Mickey Mouse’s appearance in the late 1930s. He was named a Disney Legend posthumously in 1995. Classic Mickey images.

Mickey Mouse vintage model sheets & Cel

 

Hi!!! friends today I’m going to share some vintage Disney model sheets and production cel of mickey mouse.

The very rare 1929 Mickey Mouse model sheet, probably drawn by Les Clark and coming from the Burt Gillett estate. It appears on page 46 of Pierre Lambert's book about Mickey and was featured in the "Once Upon a Time Walt Disney" exhibition that took place in 2007-2008 at the Grand Palais in Paris, then in Montréal, Munich and Helsinki.
